Postgraduate Unud Presents Senior Lecturer from Sweden in Sustainability-Themed Guest Lecture

Denpasar, May 21, 2025 - Udayana University (Unud) again showed its commitment to global sustainability issues by holding a guest lecture entitled “Sustainability in Changing Times,” organized by the Unud Postgraduate Program in collaboration with the SDGs Center Unud.

This guest lecture presented Prof. Zeev Bohbot, Senior Lecturer and Future Strategist from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. In his presentation, Prof. Bohbot emphasized the importance of sustainability science in the midst of increasingly real climate change and growing global challenges.

Unud's dedication to sustainable development has been realized through a number of strategic initiatives, such as the establishment of the Bali Center for Sustainable Finance in 2018 and the SDGs Center in 2019. The Master of Sustainable Development and Finance program launched in 2023 is also an important milestone in making Unud a pioneer of sustainability education in Asia.

As part of a long-term effort, starting in 2024 all master's programs at Udayana University will require sustainability-related courses. This policy is designed to strengthen the university's role in shaping future leaders who are sensitive to global issues and oriented towards sustainable solutions.

The guest lecture also served as a dialog space for the academic community to discuss important issues such as climate change, carbon emission control, sustainability standards, green consensus, and macroeconomic resilience. Towards the end of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, this forum encourages critical discussions about the direction of sustainability post-2030.

With this activity, Unud continues to strengthen its position as a center of knowledge and collaboration that contributes significantly to a sustainable future. (bmp/ds)
