DENPASAR – Udayana University Postgraduate Program officially opened the Sustainable Development and Ecotourism Short Course on Monday, July 13, 2026. The activity is part of the 2026 Upskill Summer Courses, which will run until August 7, 2026.

The event began with welcoming remarks from the leadership of Udayana University Postgraduate Program and Lumen Media representative Laura Korwa. The program was designed as an international learning platform that brings together participants, academics, and facilitators from diverse backgrounds.

In her remarks, Deputy Director of Udayana University Postgraduate Program Prof. Ida Ayu Astarini, M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the program serves not only as a learning opportunity but also as part of the institution's efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation.

The program is attended by three international students. They are Blanche Abbey and Cleo Faithfull from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, and Gabrielle Bryant from the University of Technology Sydney in Australia.

The participation of students from different countries enriches the academic environment and represents an important part of Udayana University's internationalization efforts.

On the occasion, Prof. Asta also expressed her appreciation for the participants' trust in choosing Bali and Udayana University as their academic destination during the four-week program.

Following the welcoming remarks, Short Course Coordinator Dr. A.A. Gde Raka Dalem presented a general overview of the course materials, learning methods, lecturers, and participants.

The academic activities focus on sustainable development and ecotourism. The program applies multidisciplinary and experience-based learning approaches to strengthen participants' understanding of environmental, social, and sustainable tourism issues.

Udayana University Postgraduate Program also expressed its appreciation to the Upskill Study Program team, academic coordinators Dr. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem and Prof. Wayan Budiasa, as well as the lecturers, facilitators, organizing committee, and administrative staff who supported the implementation of the program.

The opening ceremony concluded with a documentation session. The participants then joined a campus tour led by Putra Juliantara, M.Si., Dewa Agung Panji, M.Sc., and the accompanying team.

Through this program, Udayana University reaffirms its role as an educational institution that supports knowledge exchange, cross-border collaboration, and the development of sustainable solutions in tourism and environmental management. (bmp)
