Collaborating with Segara Ayu Fishermen Group, Master of Environmental Science Study Program Conducts Community Service

The Postgraduate Master of Environmental Science Study Program at Udayana University carried out community service activities on Sunday, November 12, 2023. The activity that was carried out in the Kedonganan Beach area, Badung, had the theme Monitoring and Planting Mangrove Seedlings on Kedonganan Beach, Badung. Besides being attended by the academic community, this community service activity also involved the Segara Ayu Fishermen Group, Kedonganan.


I Wayan Suwita, as the Head of the Segara Ayu Fishermen Group, welcomed the presence of the Udayana University Postgraduate PSMIL academic community in this activity. "We are very grateful for the support and participation of the academicians who have participated in this monitoring and mangrove seedling planting activity. Hopefully this collaboration can continue and have a positive impact on the environment and the welfare of the community around Kedonganan Beach," said I Wayan Suwita.


The academicians of the Udayana University Postgraduate Master of Environmental Science Study Program were actively involved in this activity. They monitored the condition of the mangrove ecosystem along Kedonganan Beach and participated in the process of planting mangrove seedlings together with members of the Segara Ayu Fishermen Group. This mangrove seedling planting activity is also a real effort to strengthen community participation in protecting coastal ecosystems.


"Through this community service activity, the academic community, especially students, not only gain valuable field experience but also contribute directly to efforts to preserve the environment and improve the welfare of the community", said Prof. Ir. Ida Ayu Astarini, M.Sc., Ph.D., Coordinator of the Udayana University Postgraduate Master of Environmental Science Study Program, in closing the activity. (KKn)
