Postgraduate History
Three
faculties, namely the Faculty of Letters (FS), the Faculty of Medicine (FK),
and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry (FKHP), were formed
at the beginning of the establishment of Udayana University. Until 2024,
Udayana University has 13 faculties, namely the Faculty of Humanities (formerly
the Faculty of Letters), Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Animal
Husbandry, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of
Agriculture, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary
Medicine, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Social and Political
Sciences, Faculty of Tourism, and Faculty of Marine and Fisheries. The Udayana
University Postgraduate Program was pioneered and established based on the
increasingly urgent need to improve human resources (HR), especially educators,
both within and outside Udayana University. The Udayana University Postgraduate
Program was pioneered in 1992, beginning with the opening of the Linguistics
Study Program (Prodi) Strata Two (Master) with the Decree of the Directorate
General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the
Republic of Indonesia Number 431Dikti/Kep/1992 dated October 6, 1992. This
Linguistics Study Program was the forerunner of the Postgraduate Program at
Udayana University, which at that time was chaired by Prof. Dr. I Wayan Bawa.
After the establishment of the Linguistics Master Program, a Linguistics
Doctoral Program was proposed, which was also the first Doctoral program at
Udayana University. The Linguistics Doctoral Program at Udayana University was
established by the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number
300/Dikti/Kep/1998.
Decree on the Establishment of Postgraduate Program
Along with the advancement of education and science and technology in various fields, currently Udayana University has 28 Master Programs (S2) and 14 Doctoral Programs (S3), nine Professional Programs, 22 Specialist Doctor Education Programs (PPDS). The Doctoral Program is an academic education intended for graduates of master's programs or equivalent, and is intended to develop and strengthen students to become wiser by increasing their abilities and independence as philosophers, intellectuals, cultured scientists, and produce and develop theories through comprehensive and accurate research to advance human civilization (UU DIKTI 12/2012). Meanwhile, the Master's Program is an academic education intended for graduates of undergraduate programs or equivalent to be developed into intellectuals, cultured scientists so that they are able to practice and develop Science and / or Technology through scientific reasoning and research, able to enter and / or create jobs and develop themselves into professionals (DIKTI Law 12/2012).
Based on Permenristekdikti No. 30 of 2016 concerning
Organization and Work Procedures of Udayana University, accompanied by Rector
Decree No. 592/UN14/PP.03.01/2016 in December 2016, the monodisciplinary
Postgraduate Masters and Doctoral Study Programs are administratively managed
in their respective Faculties. Postgraduate Masters and Doctoral Programs that
are multidisciplinary remain under Postgraduate Unud, as many as six
multidisciplinary programs as follows:

Until
October 16, 2000, all Udayana University Postgraduate activities were
coordinated by Prof. Dr. I Ketut Nehen, S.E., M.Sc. as Assistant Rector I of
Udayana University. The names of Udayana University Postgraduate Leaders from
