Located at ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta during May 29–30, 2024, 51 SDGs Centers were invited and attended online by Mr. Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, PhD, Head of the National Secretariat for SDGs and Expert Staff for Social and Poverty Reduction of the Ministry of PPN / Bappenas. The event was organized by the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas in collaboration with the JICA SDGs Project with the theme Strategic Role of the SDGs Center in Accelerating the Achievement of SDGs. Attending the meeting were Mr. Yanuar Nugroho (Expert Team Coordinator of the National Secretariat of SDGs Bappenas), Mr. Rahman Kurniawan (National Secretariat of SDGs Bappenas), Okamura Kenji (JICA Indonesia Senior Representative), Hisaaki Mitsui (JICA Contractor Team Leader), Dr. Djonet Santoso, MA (JICA SDGs Project), and Michael Permana Rinaldi (JICA SDGs Project).

Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Budiasa, S.P., M.P., IPU, ASEAN Eng, as the Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Research Center (SDGs Center) at LPPM Udayana University, was invited and became one of the speakers in the best practice sharing session from five SDGs Centers in Indonesia. The uniqueness of the Udayana University SDGs Center is that through UPPS Postgraduate, Udayana University was able to initiate the opening of the Master of Sustainable Development and Finance (MPKB) Study Program as stated in the Udayana University SDGs Center Road Map 2020-2030 and has received an implementation permit from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology with Decree Number 471/E/O/2023. Dated June 6, 2023. The opening of the study program is an implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between Bappenas and Unud Number NKB 06/SES/10/2021 and Number B/109/UN14/HK.07.00/2021 dated October 18, 2021 concerning Collaboration in National Development Planning through Education, Research, and Community Service; and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Indonesian Financial Services Authority and Unud Number MoU-12/D.01/2021 and Number B/123/UN14/HK.07.00/2021 dated November 22, 2021 concerning Development of the Financial Services Sector, Sustainable Finance, Financial Education, and Consumer and Community Protection in the Financial Services Sector. The uniqueness of the MPKB Study Program, the only one in Indonesia and the second in the world after The Master of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Finance and Development, Geneva Graduate Institute, Switzerland, is shown by the integration of the science and technology competencies of sustainable development and sustainable finance and by promoting biodiversity and sustainable ecotourism.

The SDGs Center of Udayana University, through its Coordinator, who is also the Director of the Postgraduate Program at Udayana University, seeks to invite all Coordinators of the Udayana University Masters Study Program to agree to include Sustainability Science (Sustainability Science) 3 credits as a mandatory course in the curriculum template contained in the Academic Guidelines for the Udayana University Masters Program in 2022, which is updated with the Academic Guidelines for the Udayana University Masters Program in 2024 by referring to Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education. Internalization of Sustainable Development Competencies into the Curriculum is very important because it directs students and graduates of the Study Program to be full of awareness and full of responsibility in contributing to efforts to achieve the SDGs. Education for Sustainable Development (EfSD) has been mandated by UNESCO, and in Indonesia since 2009, it has been introduced by the Ministry of Education at that time. This is also to support Indonesia's commitment through Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017, which was updated with Presidential Regulation Number 111 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and OJK Regulation Number 51/POJK.03/2017 concerning the Implementation of Sustainable Finance for Financial Services Institutions, Issuers, and Public Companies.
