Pursuing the Target of Opening a Biomedical Engineering Study Program, the Task Force Team Holds Preliminary Meetings and Division of Tasks

Armed with a mandate from the Rector of Udayana University (Udayana University), Postgraduate Unud, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Budiasa, SP., MP., IPU ASEAN Eng as Director, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Ni Nyoman Pujianiki, ST., MT., M.Eng., IPM, and Dr. I Gusti Ayu Putri Kartika, SH., MH as Deputy Director I and II Postgraduate Unud, continues to innovate to advance Postgraduate Unud. One of the mandates given by the Chancellor is to establish a quality multidisciplinary study program. Departing from this mandate, Postgraduate Unud plans to open a new study program that integrates engineering with medical science, namely the Biomedical Engineering Study Program.

This new study program is targeted to have its establishment permit issued early next year, so that it can open student registration in the odd semester next year. "Based on the target time that we have set together, we ask for support from all members of the task force team to help each other in preparing the proposal for the establishment of our new study program," said Prof. Dr. I Dewa Gede Ary Subagia, ST, MT, Ph.D., as the head of the task force team.

In addition to the background of the mandate from the Rector of Udayana University, the establishment of this biomedical engineering study program is also a solution to address issues regarding technological needs in the field of medicine, the development of technology and digitalization of health services, downstream technology work in the field of medical services, and other issues closely related to technology in the field of medicine.

"This biomedical engineering study program has good potential in the future because the need for technology in the medical field will also grow, so experts in this field are needed. In addition, postgraduates also have the facilities and infrastructure needed for learning, supported by the many postgraduate collaborations with public and private hospitals, making it easier for students to practice. Hopefully the preparation of this proposal can be completed soon so that we can immediately attract students." said Prof. Wayan Budiasa, Director of Postgraduate Unud. (bmp)
