Udayana University Postgraduate Program Holds Workshop on OBE-Based Curriculum Re-Orientation

NEWS

The Postgraduate Program of Udayana University held a Workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE)-Based Curriculum Re-Orientation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Postgraduate Hall of Udayana University, Denpasar. This activity served as a strategic step for the Unud Postgraduate Program in strengthening the full, directed, and systematic implementation of an outcome-based curriculum.

The workshop featured two speakers, namely Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Nasruddin, M.Eng from Universitas Indonesia and I Made Arsa Suyadnya, S.T., M.Eng from USDI Udayana University. Prof. Nasruddin is known as an experienced IABEE evaluator and an expert in OBE implementation for international accreditation, while I Made Arsa Suyadnya is the developer of the SIMAK-OBE system in Udayana University's IMISSU and a practitioner in academic information system integration.

In his presentation, Prof. Nasruddin explained that OBE places learning outcomes at the center of the educational process. Unlike traditional education, which focuses on input and content, OBE emphasizes student learning outcomes through measurable, structured, and continuous curriculum planning, learning methods, assessment, and evaluation.

The activity also highlighted the implementation of OBE in seven postgraduate study programs at Udayana University, namely the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science, Master’s Program in Environmental Science, Master’s Program in Sustainable Development and Finance, Master’s Program in Health Law, Master’s Program in Hospital Administration, Work Physiology Ergonomics, and PSPPI. All of these study programs are directed to fully implement the OBE curriculum as part of Udayana University's institutional commitment.

In addition to discussing the basic concepts of OBE, the workshop also emphasized the importance of mapping Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), performance indicators, assessment rubrics, and the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) mechanism. With the support of the IMISSU digital ecosystem, particularly SIMAK-OBE and OASE, the process of inputting, mapping, monitoring, and evaluating learning outcomes can be carried out in a more systematic and well-documented manner.

Through this workshop, the Postgraduate Program of Udayana University hopes that each study program will be able to understand the philosophy of OBE, formulate CPL in accordance with its graduate profile, map CPL to courses, develop rubric-based assessment instruments, and establish a CQI mechanism using the PDCA cycle. The implementation of OBE is not only a regulatory requirement, but also an academic investment to produce postgraduate graduates who are competent, measurable, and globally competitive. (bmp)
