Dissemination of Udayana Postgraduate Research Results: Realizing Research with Tangible Impact

Friday, November 7, 2025, the Postgraduate Program of Udayana University held a research dissemination event at Hidden Paradise Cottage, Karangasem Regency. The event was attended by academics, practitioners, and various stakeholders interested in sustainable development in Bali in general, and Karangasem Regency in particular. This dissemination aims to disseminate the research results conducted by Postgraduate lecturers and students, which is expected to have a real impact on society and support more effective regional development planning.

The event was opened with a welcome speech from the Director of Postgraduate Studies at Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Suprapta Winaya. In his speech, Prof. Win emphasized the importance of collaboration between academics, government, and the private sector. The atmosphere of this activity is more relaxed than on campus, and hopefully, it can bring about better changes for future cooperation. "Technology is a tool, but what's more important is the ability to change," he said. He also added that the main goal of this activity is for the research results not to remain on paper, but to be adopted and applied in the field.

Next, the Head of the Karangasem Regency Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) gave a speech highlighting the great potential and diversity of the Karangasem region, which can be effectively utilized to improve community welfare. "We hope that the research results can be included in the regional development plan, and Bappeda, as a bridge for integrating these research findings, will support data- and evidence-based planning," he explained. The head of Bappeda also emphasized that the management of leading sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and mining must be done wisely, considering the persistent poverty challenges in the region.

In this activity, several speakers from various study programs at the Udayana University Graduate School presented their research results, including:

      2. Prof. Ida Ayu Astarini (Prodi Magister Ilmu Lingkungan) – "Keanekaragaman Padi Lokal Desa Geriana Kauh, Karangasem dan Potensi Pengembangannya"
      3. Prof. I Wayan Budiasa (Prodi Magister Pembangunan dan Keuangan Berkelanjutan) – "Manajemen Berkelanjutan Usahatani Padi di Kabupaten Jembrana"
      4. Dr. Surya Diarta (Prodi Magister Pembangunan dan Keuangan Berkelanjutan) – "Pembangunan Agrowisata Berbasis Subak Berkelanjutan"
      5. Citra (Prodi Magister Ergonomi) – "Implementasi Istirahat Aktif dan Perbaikan Postur Kerja sebagai Strategi Ergonomi untuk Mengurangi Keluhan Muskuloskeletal pada Pekerja UMKM Pembuat Piranti Upakara di Desa Peliatan, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali"
      6. Prof. Ni Luh Suriani (Prodi Magister Pembangunan dan Keuangan Berkelanjutan) – "Kopi Ginseng Lokal: Produk Pertanian Berkelanjutan"
  • This activity also aims to further encourage collaboration between universities, local governments, and the private sector in achieving sustainable development in Bali. Academics hope that the research results presented will not only become academic documents, but can also make a real contribution to development planning that directly impacts society. With this activity, it is hoped that synergy between academic institutions and the Karangasem local government can be enhanced to overcome existing challenges and utilize local potential for the better welfare of the community.
