Saturday, September 27, 2025, Glagalinggah Pine Forest in Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, hosted a community service activity involving academics from Udayana University (UNUD) Postgraduate Program. The academics were warmly welcomed by forest managers who emphasized the importance of public education in preserving the environment. This activity aims to create a more sustainable environment through close collaboration between academics, the community, and forest managers.

Prof. I Nyoman Suprapta Winaya, S.T., M.A.Sc., Ph.D, Director of Postgraduate Studies at UNUD, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the forest management team. In his speech, he said that this activity was part of the 62nd anniversary celebrations of UNUD and the 33rd anniversary of BK Postgraduate Studies. In addition, he hoped that this activity could contribute to preserving the environment, as well as preventing the recurrence of the floods that recently occurred in Denpasar. “Hopefully, through this collaboration, we can work together to protect the environment so that similar incidents do not happen again,” he added.

During the event, participants were given an explanation of the importance of waste selection and processing as part of environmental conservation efforts. This discussion was one of the main focuses in supporting the cleanliness and sustainability of pine forests. The event continued with a tree adoption activity, which was the core of this service. The community members who attended were given the opportunity to adopt trees in the pine forest area, which will later be cared for and maintained together for the sustainability of the ecosystem in the area.

Through this activity, it is hoped that not only will public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment be raised, but also that the active role of the community in managing existing natural resources will be strengthened. The managers of the Glagalinggah Pine Forest hope that this collaboration will continue in order to create a better and more sustainable environment.(bmp)
