Master of Environmental Science Unud Collaborates with Yamaguchi University to Hold an International Symposium

Thursday (11/1) in Room 3.10 of the Postgraduate Building of Udayana University (Udayana University), the Udayana University Postgraduate Master of Environmental Science Study Program (PSMIL) in collaboration with the Yamaguchi University International Collaboration Office (YUICO) held the 7th International Symposium with the theme "7th Symposium: Human Resource Development and Space Data Utilization for Disaster.".



This event presents 8 speakers who are very expert and competent in their fields; 4 of them are researchers from the Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing, Yamaguchi University, namely Prof. Masahiko Nagai, Prof. Keiji Imaoka, Dr. Tsuyoshi Eguci, and Hana Watari. Then, 4 other speakers were Professors of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. I Nyoman Darma Putra, M.Litt., Ph.D., and Experts at the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), who were also alumni of the PSMIL Postgraduate Unud, namely I Wayan Andi Yuda, Pande Putu Hadi Wiguna, and Putu Agus Dedi Permana. This hybrid symposium activity was attended by around 50 participants from within and outside the country.



Human Resource Development and Space Data Utilization for Disaster is one of the collaborations routinely carried out by PSMIL in collaboration with YUICO. Until now, it has been carried out for the 7th period. This symposium activity involves the dissemination of research between lecturers and students both in Udayana and in Yamaguchi.



In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Eng. I Nyoman Pujianiki, ST, MT, M.Eng., IPM, as Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and Planning at Postgraduate Unud, said that this activity was very useful for students and lecturers at Postgraduate Unud in particular and for researchers in the field of disaster mitigation. "Hopefully the participants of this symposium can benefit and add insight into knowledge, especially in the field of disaster mitigation," she hoped. (bmp)
