Improving Work Ethic: The Key to Excellent Service in Postgraduate Udayana University
Denpasar, November 25, 2025, the Unud Postgraduate Building Hall was the venue for a workshop aimed at fostering a work ethic in line with one's potential. The workshop, themed “Cultivating a Work Ethic in Line with One's Potential to Achieve Excellent Service,” was held for postgraduate education staff, including those based in the building and postgraduate education staff from the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The speaker for the event was Putu Suprapti Santy Sastra, SH., CHt., CI, an expert in the field of personal development and communication.
During the workshop session, Santy Sastra emphasized the importance of recognizing one's potential to improve work ethic. Participants were invited to understand their intelligence, whether it is more dominant in thinking, intuiting, sensing, feeling, or instinct, which will influence the way they work and interact with others. By recognizing their potential, educators can optimize their contribution at work and provide better service.
Effective communication is also an important point in achieving excellent service. Santy emphasized that communication does not only depend on words, but also on body language, facial expressions, and friendly tone of voice. Participants were taught to maintain good relationships with others by choosing pleasant words and maintaining the dignity of others.
In closing, Santy conveyed a profound message about the importance of loving one's work in order to achieve true happiness. “If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, love your work,” she said. By understanding the basic principles of service, such as friendliness, integrity, and a good attitude, participants are expected to be able to provide exceptional service in their daily work environment.
